Beacon Hall’s membership vote falls short of required number to sell golf course

Count comes up eight votes shy of required two-thirds majority

A vote among members of Aurora, Ont.’s Beacon Hall Golf Club fell just short of the required two-thirds that would have resulted in the sale of the course to developer Treasure Hill Homes. Members voted 63 per cent in favour of the sale. The proposed sale had reportedly created a rift among the membership over the past couple of years, separating its older and wealthier golfers from its younger members.
