London golfers say city’s decision to shut down River Road course is short sighted

They argue pandemic will continue to see upswing in golf

London golfers are saying the city’s recent decision to permanently close the municipal River Road Golf Course and sell the property is “short sighted.” They argued that as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the demand for golf will be just as great as it was in 2020 when safety protocols prohibited many other sports and recreational pursuits from taking place. Money generated from the sale of the River Road property is to be earmarked for the city’s public golf system.
