WCTA to send only essential communications for next while

March 20, 2020  By Turf & Rec

The Western Canada Turfgrass Association has announced it will be sending only essential communications during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully this concern is short lived, but as an association, we want to remain proactive and will continue working on member initiatives and support wherever possible during this difficult time,”  a communique to WCTA members stated. “As turf managers, we will likely need to consider and be prepared for perceived and real economic implications of this situation and the potential necessity of a minimal standards or operations plan. If the association can assist with sourcing and circulating helpful information to our membership in this area, let us know.”

The association has announced the cancellation or postponement of two events:

  • Pat Dooley Memorial Golf Tournament, April 24, Mayfair Lakes Golf Course – cancelled
  • Sports Turf Canada AGM, April 2, UBC – to be rescheduled

“The WCTA will resume regular operations as things get back to normal.”
