Snow contractors anticipate loss of customers as insurance rates continue to skyrocket

Snow and ice contractors in the Orillia, Ont. area are anticipating a massive loss of customers this winter as insurance rates continue to soar. One company noted it normally paid about $5,000 per year in insurance, but the cost escalated last year to $32,000. As a consequence of the soaring fees, companies are dropping such high-risk places as strip malls and apartment buildings.
