Saint John, N.B. dramatically increases its baseball field rental costs, threatening registrations
Costs have doubled over past four years
March 16, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Baseball user groups in Saint John, N.B. aren’t pleased with the city’s plans to more than double their field rental costs this season. The city’s Molson CoEd Slo Pitch League said its rental fee this year will be in excess of $40,000. That’s twice what the league paid only four years ago. The city says the increased fees are meant to recover its field maintenance costs. Local baseball groups say the increase could have a bearing on registrations.
