Snow cover saves new Yellowknife golf green from major vandalism damage
Club spent half-million dollars on new greens
March 16, 2022 By Turf & Rec

The new green at the Yellowknife Golf Club’s eighth hole came close to sustaining major damage last weekend in an act of “intentional vandalism,” the club’s president says. Shaun Morris said a vehicle broke through a fence near the ninth fairway and drove over the green. Upon closer examination, the snow cover was simply packed down, leaving the green unscathed. The club spent a half-million dollars late last season on new greens for its 18 holes. Police are investigating the incident.
