Kuypers moving up Syngenta ladder
Aug. 28, 2018 – David Kuypers, currently head of lawn and garden Canada for Syngenta Canada Inc., will take over as the company's commercial operations manager, effective Sept. 1.
"In this new role, I will oversee various internal and external commercial processes and work with our crop protection, seeds and seed care commercial units, and our production and supply and customer service groups," he wrote to colleagues and partners. "This is an exciting opportunity for me to fulfill my ambition to work in Canadian agriculture and, while I am looking forward to this new challenge, this news comes with the reality that my time serving the turf industry will come to an end in the near future."
Next year marks Kuypers' 20th anniversary in the industry since graduating from Penn State University. He credited those who contributed to and supported his growth over the years that allowed him to explore a variety of professional and academic pursuits.
"In fact, it's these very development opportunities that have allowed me to take this next step and challenge myself in an entirely new way," he wrote.
Kuypers said he will continue to serve as an instructor in the turfgrass management program at the University of Guelph.
A successor to Kuypers in his role as head of lawn and garden Canada has yet to be announced.
