London proposes aerial spraying strategy to control growing gypsy moth problem

Bacteria is deadly to caterpillars, harmless to humans

London, Ont. is looking to initiate an aggressive spraying campaign this year to combat the growing problem of gypsy moth infestation. City staff are seeking approval to launch the aerial spraying of a bacteria that kills the moth caterpillars yet is harmless to humans. If the strategy is approved, five city parks will be targeted.
