May 6, 2024 By Turf & Rec
A ball diamond at the Curve Lake First Nation reserve in Ontario’s Kawartha district will be undergoing extensive renovations through funding from both Indigenous Services Canada and the Toronto Blue Jays’ Jays Care Foundation.
The federal grant amounts to $300,000 while the Jays’ charity is adding another $100,000 toward improvements to Mary Dorothy Jacobs Memorial Park’s diamond.
Not only is the diamond set to undergo needed improvements, the community’s youth baseball leagues will continue to be developed.
The Curve Lake community has a population of about 3,000 people.
