Fredericton joins ‘No Mow May’ movement and won’t mow its parks until June
Movement gathering steam in Atlantic Canada

The “No Mow May” movement is growing in Atlantic Canada. The concept, which originated in England, encourages people to wait until June to mow their lawns, thereby promoting pollination among the dandelions and clover. The City of Fredericton, for example, has declined to mow the grass in its municipal parks until June.
