Canadian soccer legend among investors in new Ottawa soccer field construction projects
One artificial, one natural field to be built
July 29, 2021 By Ottawa Business Journal

Two new regulation-sized soccer pitches – one natural and one artificial – are slated to be built in Ottawa’s east end. Among the investors in the more than $2.5-million project is Julian de Guzman, the first Canadian player in Spain’s top-level La Liga and a former general manager of the Ottawa Fury. A statement from the Maple Leaf Almrausch German Club read, “Having a world-class FIFA-sized artificial turf field, a FIFA-sized grass field and an authentic European clubhouse will provide soccer players and supporters an experience that is second to none in our community.”
