A new artificial turf surface is being laid at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium ahead of the Calgary Stampeders’ CFL season.

The turf replaces a former synthetic playing surface that is about a decade old and has reached its life expectancy,

Global News reports the turf replacement is one of several upgrades being done at the stadium which will be the host site for the 113th Grey Cup game in November 2026.

About half of the new turf was laid this week in an effort to have the job completed before the Stampeders’ rookie camp, which begins May 7.
