Ban gas-powered leaf blowers, Vancouver Island councillor proposes
Local landscape contractor says industry not yet ready to switch to electric, battery power

As a means of dealing with climate change as well as noise output, a town councillor from Oak Bay, B.C. is proposing the municipality introduce a ban on the use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers. But a local landscape contractor argues the industry isn’t yet ready to deal with an abrupt ban.
