Andersons announces new dispersible granule patent

June 7, 2013  By  Mike Jiggens

The Andersons, Inc. Turf & Specialty Group has announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 8,435,321, which relates to its dispersing granule technology. The '321 patent raises The Andersons dispersing granule portfolio to nine issued patents.

The Andersons is committed to adding to its portfolio products designed to deliver nutrients and pest control chemicals directly into the soil. Upon contact with water, each granule disperses into thousands of micro particles that move directly into the root zone. The dispersible granule is designed to eliminate problems with runoff and mechanical pickup, which decreases loss of efficiency.

“We continue to invest in technology that provides solutions for our customers in the U.S. and internationally,” said Chuck Anderson, director of professional products, Turf & Specialty Group. “This also positions us for future growth by serving new and future customers in the turf, agriculture and horticulture markets with a proprietary, premium, product offering.”

Dispersing granule technology is marketed under the brands of Contec DG®, Nutri DG®, DGLite®, Humic DG™, and Biomend DG®.
