Dispersing granule humic acid product now available in Canada

February 13, 2015  By  Mike Jiggens

Humic DG, a dispersing granule humic acid product which provides a full complement of humic substances, including fulvic, humic and humin acids, is now registered for use in Canada.

A product of The Andersons, Inc. Turf & Specialty Group, it is available to customers in the Canadian turf, agriculture and horticulture markets.

Humic acid is a natural soil conditioner that acts as an organic chelator and microbial stimulator. It has a unique carbon matrix which includes a high concentration of trace minerals and organic acids. As a result of these properties, humic acid enhances the plant's ability to take in essential nutrients and improve soil structure.

“The Andersons dispersing granule technology enhances the efficiency of Humic DG by four times vs. conventional dry humates,” said Chuck Anderson, director of professional products, Turf & Specialty Group. “The Andersons' dust free, spherical, ultra-dry granules are easy to handle and apply, and can be blended with a variety of dry fertilizers including urea.”

With nine patents in its dispersing granule portfolio, The Andersons continues to invest in technology that provides solutions for its customers.

The Andersons dispersible products are designed to deliver nutrients and pest control chemicals directly into the soil.  Upon contact with water, each granule disperses into thousands of micro particles that move directly into the root zone. The dispersible granule is designed to reduce problems with run-off and mechanical pick up, which increases efficiency.
