The June bug – a beetle named as such because of its emergence during the summer month – can be an annoying pest of lawns as its larvae cuts turf at the roots and is the target of animals who will dig into the surface to hunt the bugs for a meal. Although June bugs aren’t harmful to people, they can be a detriment to lawns, golf courses and agricultural crops if left unchecked.
