Young Muskoka brothers establish their own lawn maintenance business
Their landscaping business owner father has been a mentor to them along the way

Mentored by their father – the owner of a Muskoka landscaping business – brothers Simon and Alex Sickinger have founded their own lawn maintenance business.
The high school students learned aspects of the business from their father, John, owner of Granite Bluff Landscaping, but set out to accomplish something themselves.
The brothers’ business got its start several years ago when Simon, currently in Grade 12, began mowing neighbours’ lawns while he was in Grade 5.
Understanding escalating housing prices, Simon told local media that making good money now is a way to be able to afford a home. He added he has learned helpful business lessons along the way through such miscues as underpricing jobs.
