Nov. 1, 2018 – The Nature Conservancy of Canada is asking Canadians not to rake their lawns this fall. The agency's Andrew Holland said leaf cover provides habitat for smaller creatures to survive the winter, providing a food source for birds in the spring. He added that those who worry about excessive leaf cover smothering their lawns can rake the leaves alongside bushes.
