New infield among coming improvements to Stratford school diamond, thanks to Jays

Blue Jays charity providing $53,000 for diamond upgrades

Stratford, Ont.’s St. Aloysius Catholic Elementary School is getting a helping hand from the Jays Care Foundation to upgrade its baseball diamond.

The Toronto Blue Jays charity has earmarked $53,000 to give the diamond a facelift, including a new infield, fencing and covered dugouts.

The Jays Care Foundation helps to fund upgrades and builds of baseball diamonds in communities across Canada.

The Stratford project is one of 14 across Canada to receive part of a $1.5-million assist from the charity.
