New cordless blower rivals power of gas models

August 17, 2015  By  Mike Jiggens

Makita's new cordless blower has the power to rival many of the industry's top gas-powered blowers.

The DUB362Z cordless 36-volt (18V X 2) blower features close to 480 cfm and 120 mph air speed. The brushless motor gives the unit a long run time and much less heat than a conventional motor, expanding the lifetime of the blower.

Based on Makita’s battery platform, the blower uses two 18-volt batteries in series to obtain 36 volts. The batteries are the same as those used in the Makita line of 18-volt cordless power tools, giving the user the option of 130-plus tools.

The blower has six-stage air volume/velocity settings by dial with variable speed control by trigger. The trigger also has a lock-on feature.

Other features include a telescoping nozzle, allowing up to four inches more tube length. As well, there are dual battery gauges, giving the operator the state of charge at a glance.
