Dogs (and horses) running loose on Eganville sports fields could mean stiffer penalties

Dogs running freely on the ball diamond and soccer pitch at Legion Field in Eganville, Ont. are bad enough, according to local councillors, but horses? A nearby off-leash park was created in the municipality to keep dogs off the sports fields, but councillors say perhaps it’s time for new signage to be erected to let dog owners – and horse owners – know that stiff penalties could be imposed when animals roam freely on sports fields.
