
Aug. 10, 2018 – The spread of the emerald ash borer across Eastern Canada will have a profound impact on First Nations communities who depend on splints of the wood to weave baskets and preserve a long-standing cultural tradition. A basket maker from Akwesasne, near Cornwall, Ont. said the tradition has been passed down for generations, and she wishes it to continue.
