‘We were packed every day, from open to close,’ Nepean club golf director says
Pandemic results in record numbers at Ottawa area courses
October 13, 2020 By Capital Current
Golf has enjoyed an edge over other outdoor sporting activities this year as it is one of the few sports that can be safely played amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “We were pretty much the only sport people were allowed to do for the majority of the summer, so we were packed every day from open to close,” Joe Warner, director of golf at Stonebridge Golf Club in Nepean, said. Record high numbers were reported throughout the Ottawa region’s golf courses.
