Ball diamond shut down due to giant hornets’ nest

Aug. 2, 2018 – A nest of giant Japanese hornets discovered on a baseball diamond in Port Colborne, Ont. has led to the field’s closure. The nest was discovered during routine maintenance of the field which will remain closed until further notice. Six of the hornets are capable of killing 10,000 honeybees and can be aggressive toward humans if provoked.
