York Lions Stadium at Toronto’s York University is on the cusp of finishing an $8.2-million transformation of its track and field facility into a venue that will accommodate such sports as soccer, football, rugby and field hockey. The refurbished stadium is expected to reopen on Friday in time for a Canadian Premier League soccer game between York United FC and Hamilton Forge FC. Renovations began last August to include what is touted as the highest in quality artificial turf surfaces.
