The Western Ontario Golf Superintendents Association (WOGSA) is ready to begin the 2015 season with four golf events planned during the months of June, July, August and September.
The events, which include a round of golf, informal meeting and dinner, kick off Tuesday, June 2 at Guelph's Victoria Park East Golf Club. They continue Tuesday, July 14 at the Flamborough Hills Golf Club, Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the Deerfield Golf Club in Oakville, and Monday, Sept. 28 at Woodstock's Craigowan Golf Club. The September event is better known as the Taylor-Barnes tournament. The respective host superintendents for these events are Jason Sewell, Joe Adams, Ian McIsaac and Jerry Richard.
The annual cost of membership to WOGSA is $ 25 if paid by the second golf meeting. The fee wil increase to $ 35 after that. Anyone attending a meeting who has not paid a membership fee or is a golf industry guest will be charged an extra $ 10 on top of the day’s fee as a non-member. Free memberships will be offered to all retired members.
All golf events will have a maximum of 20 prizes awarded (five each in three gross flights and five proximity). Prize donations from supplier are welcomed.
WOGSA will continue to offer a corporate membership to its suppliers, which is an area it hopes to build and improve upon.
The association will continue to contribute scholarship awards to several key industry institutions.
Members planning to take part in an event must call the host club to confirm their registration or to cancel if necessary.
WOGSA's board of directors include president John Taylor, Trevor Hunter, Angelo Capannelli, Gavin Kellogg, Dennis Piccolo, and Jim Dimitriw.
