Winnipeg residents say trees getting battered by snow piled up high by city crews
Branches are breaking and trunks suffering nicks
January 24, 2022 By Turf & Rec
City snow removal crews are piling the snow up high in Winnipeg, and residents don’t like what it’s doing to their trees. A city councillor said she has fielded several calls of late about the damage that piled up snow is doing to trees, including the breakage of branches and nicks into the bark of trunks. Winnipeg has endured close to 100 centimetres of snow this winter, and crews are reported piling it high up around front yard trees.
