Windsor, Ont.’s sports fields won’t be opening for the season until May 7, allowing sufficient time for the turf to mature and for pre-season maintenance to take place.
In the meantime, residents are being asked to keep off all soccer fields, baseball diamonds and other sports turf facilities.
Those found using the fields without a permit while they are closed are subject to being fined.
