Whitecaps’ Carl Valentine on hand for opening of Indigenous community soccer pitch

A special ceremony is being held today on Penelakut Island in British Columbia to commemorate the opening of the area’s first state-of-the-art mini soccer pitch. Joining the Penelakut Tribe for the occasion is Vancouver Whitecaps ambassador Carl Valentine. The pitch is the first in a series of fields being installed in Indigenous communities.
