Vernon, B.C. looking at establishing sports park at current track site

Sports park was first envisioned 30 years ago

City council in Vernon, B.C. has voted to pursue a revision of its Kin Race Track Athletic Park to become a full sports park. According to Coun. Brian Quiring, the area was slated to eventually become a sports park 30 years ago, saying council dropped the ball in not seeing it through. City staff has been directed to conceive a plan that includes artificial turf playing fields, ball diamonds, outdoor courts and a domed field house.
