Vancouver residents say city’s ‘urban meadows’ look more like unmowed, unkempt grassy eyesores
Green spaces intended to support flora, fauna

Vancouver’s “urban meadows” are taking some flak from city residents who don’t appreciated their shaggy, unkempt look, but their appearance is intentional, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation says. The board says the green spaces are intended to diversify the city’s landscape and support native flora and fauna. Those criticizing the appearance of these green spaces suggest it appears the city is neglecting its mowing duties.
