‘Upset’ Ontario golfers demand province reverse its golf course closure order
Ontario only province or state to outlaw golf
April 21, 2021 By CBC News
Ontario golfers are taking aim at the provincial government’s extended stay-at-order order, demanding that golf courses reopen. The general manager at Emerald Links, Anderson Links and Cloverdale Links in Ottawa said tee sheets were full at the time of the lockdown extension announcement, adding that golfers were “upset” by the news. And the co-founder of a golf centre in nearby Kanata tweeted, “Golf is allowed in all 50 states and in every other province in Canada. Last year there were 20 million rounds played in Ontario with no reported cases of COVID-19 tied to golf.”
