‘Unacceptable’ to have public meeting during COVID to discuss golf property’s future: councillor

Armstrong, B.C. course could see new development

A controversial re-designation application for Armstrong, B.C.’s Royal York Golf Course property will entertain public input during tonight’s city council meeting. But, one councillor suggests having a public hearing in the midst of COVID-19’s fourth wave is “unacceptable.” Jim Wright says local taxpayers will lose financially if the application is approved. If the application is successful, additional housing would be permitted on the property, reducing the size of the nine-hole golf course property.
