Turf damage abundant from plowing activity following late snow storm
Winnipeg fields 71 calls regarding torn up turf
April 15, 2021 By CTV News
A late winter snow storm that left between 15 and 29 centimetres of snow in Winnipeg has resulted in dozens of lawns getting torn up from city plows. More than 70 calls were fielded afterwards regarding turf damage. The city said it was difficult for sidewalk plows to clear the snow, saying plows were often pushed sideways due to the amount of wet snow.
