Tree removal in London park is overkill, residents claim, and defies canopy plan
Trees are being removed to allow expansion of stormwater pond

Scores of mature trees have been cut down in London, Ont.’s McCormick Park, and neighbours aren’t happy. The trees, which were located along the shore of a stormwater pond, were cut to make room for the pond’s enlargement. Residents say the number of trees being removed is overkill and contradicts the city’s goal of expanding its urban tree canopy.
