Toronto man told to replace his artificial turf front lawn after it was previously approved
Octogenarian says he physically can't maintain grass
February 9, 2023 By Turf & Rec

A Toronto octogenarian is in a fight with city hall over his installation of artificial turf at the front of his property. The man says a stroke has left him with limited mobility, making it difficult for him to maintain natural grass. The city, however, says synthetic turf isn’t permissible as a landscape cover, claiming it isn’t permeable. The man is facing a potential fine if the surface isn’t replaced within 30 days.
