Toro gives big boost to Irrigation Foundation

November 7, 2013  By  Mike Jiggens

In support of the Irrigation Foundation and its successful Irrigation E3 Program, The Toro Company presented the Foundation with a $ 20,000 cheque on Nov. 7 in booth 1301 during the Irrigation Show and Education Conference. Foundation and Toro representatives were on-site to share their enthusiasm for the partnership, answer questions and provide photo opportunities.

“The Irrigation Foundation is looking forward to partnering with Toro in the continued success of our unique Irrigation E3 Program, which sends promising students and influential educators to the Irrigation Show,” says Steve McCoon of Nelson Irrigation Corp. and current chair of the Foundation. “The Foundation is grateful for Toro’s support and is excited to see that our work with students really resonates with them.”

The Irrigation E3 Program focuses on exposure, experience and education as the primary means for creating interest in irrigation career opportunities. Students and educators selected for the program experience these three E’s first-hand with an all-expenses-paid trip to the Irrigation Show. At the show, they participate in education classes, interact with the latest technologies, network with industry leaders, and gain a real-life perspective of the irrigation industry.

“Toro is a proud supporter of this initiative and feels that there is real value to having students interact with our industry on a face-to-face basis,” says Judson McNeil, president of The Toro Foundation, Toro’s charitable giving program. “The Irrigation Show is one of the best places for future leaders in our industry to establish meaningful relationships and walk away with a comprehensive impression of the irrigation industry.”
