General Guidelines

  • Nominees must be younger than 40 prior to December 31, 2020.
  • Nominees must work in Canada, be of Canadian nationality, or have a direct impact on the Canadian turf and grounds maintenance industry.
  • Nominations from all related industries are welcome, including golf, landscaping, lawn care, sports turf and sod production.
  • Nominations are due June 5, 2020.

Must the nominee by Canadian?
No. The nominee can be of any nationality, but, if not Canadian, must either be employed in Canada or have a direct impact on the country’s turf and grounds maintenance industry. The latter qualification relates to, for example, researchers or engineers who develop technologies actively utilized in Canada. We also encourage nominations of Canadians working outside of the country.

What industry sectors are applicable to the program?
Nominations can come from all related turf and grounds maintenance sectors, including (but not limited to) golf, landscaping, lawn care, sports turf and sod production.

Are nominations for industry workers only?
No. We encourage nominations from academics, suppliers, distributors, media agencies, as well as educational and research institutions, associations, and non-profit entities.

Who can nominate an individual for the program?
Nominators can include advisors, supervisors, co-workers, or colleagues familiar with the nominee’s work and character.

What type of information should be included about the nominee?
Information about the nominee can include (but is not exclusive to): Projects or initiatives the individual is or has been involved in; results from past projects; job responsibilities; industry initiatives outside of the workplace; community involvement; or any relatable activities to the turf and grounds maintenance industry.
