There are valid reasons for the dishevelled appearance of Calgary’s green spaces

Calgary’s parks and public spaces may appear a little more dishevelled than previous years, but there are valid reasons for this. Landscaping work was reduced in June due to extreme wet weather, cuts were made to the city’s landscaping budget, and a shift has been made toward expanded naturalization. Nevertheless, complaints are rolling in from the public regarding the appearance of green spaces. A resident who recently moved to Calgary from Edmonton said the city needs to strike a balance between naturalization and aesthetics in order to draw new people.
