The “Sodfather” – the National Football League’s groundskeeper – has quit after 80 years after expressing his outrage for the field conditions at last month’s Super Bowl game. George Toma, 94, said the field at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. was overwatered, leading to complaints among the players for the slippery conditions. The playing surface, which was on a tray-like apparatus that was slid into place, needed sunlight to dry out before the game, he argued.
