Synthetic Turf Council promotes product’s benefits in TV station’s investigation
Environmental, health concerns over artificial turf still remain

A U.S. television station has conducted an investigative report into artificial turf following concerns that synthetic turf fields in parks and at schools present environmental and health concerns.
WSB-TV in Atlanta got the Synthetic Turf Council to respond to respond to concerns that artificial turf sports fields contain PFAS, or forever chemicals, and contribute toward burns.
The Synthetic Turf Council cited several benefits of artificial turf, including its ability to be played on in rain, its costs, its playability and its environmental benefits.
The organization reports there are no intentionally added PFAS in the manufacturing of the product and that advanced cooling technologies help to combat heat.
