Sylvite Turf adds USGA-spec sand to its product line

April 2, 2012  By  Mike Jiggens

Sylvite Turf has announced the addition of USGA spec, kiln-dried
topdressing sand to its portfolio of products. Ideal for the light
and frequent applications of topdressing necessary for maintaining high-quality putting surfaces, the silica-based product will be offered in
packaging options that suits every operation.

“We are excited to be able to add kiln-dried sand to our product lineup,” said Doug Hubble of Sylvite Turf. “Consistent with our brand, the material is of the highest standard and, with 50-pound bags and 1,500 and 3,000-pound totes available, it gives our customers choices in a competitive marketplace.”

Fairmount’s material is produced and packaged with ISO-certified quality control standards in place and is segregated to virtually eliminate contamination during production. The end result is a material with features important to both superintendents and golf course owners alike: a sub-angular grain shape that yields greater pore space, thereby enhancing water infiltration while minimizing compaction.
