Supreme Court of Canada dismisses Ottawa’s appeal over Kanata Golf Club ruling

The Supreme Court of Canada has dismissed an appeal by the City of Ottawa that would have protected the Kanata Golf & Country Club from development. Canada’s highest court wouldn’t hear the city’s appeal over a 1981 agreement that stated at least 40 per cent of the property must be kept as green space. No explanation was given by the court for not hearing the appeal. Ontario’s top court reversed a lower court ruling in November that would have banned ClubLink from building on the site.
