Snow clearing machinery suspected for damage
March 22, 2022 By Turf & Rec

Stoney Creek, Ont.’s Dewitt Park is succumbing to extensive sod damage. The park’s walkway is full of cracks and ruts, but the adjacent sod along its shoulders has been torn up as a result of what could be the work of snow clearing machinery and garbage collection vehicles. A local resident says the sod damage has been an issue the past few years, but it’s the worst he’s ever seen. He’s calling on the city to take the measures needed to minimize future damage.
