Spotted lanternfly presents threat to Canadian trees and Ontario’s viticulture industry

Maples, poplars and pines are among tree species under new threat by an invasive insect. The spotted lanternfly hasn’t yet been discovered in Canada, but has been found in several U.S. states, including New York. Its attack on fruit trees and maples puts Ontario’s viticulture industry in potential peril.
