Sports Turf Canada to offer online synthetic turf maintenance course March 1-2

Sports Turf Canada is presenting an online synthetic sports turf safety and maintenance course March 1-2.

The sessions will be held each day from 9-11:30 a.m. EST.

The course is designed to introduce the latest principles and techniques of managing and maintaining synthetic sports turf. It will be of interest to those who manage or maintain synthetic sports turf and to those who wish to develop additional knowledge and skills in this field.

Instructor for the course is Tab Buckner of the Township of Langley, B.C., who will address such topics as:

• What is synthetic turf?
• History of synthetic turf
• Design of fields
• How to identify your type of field
• Installation and drainage understanding
• Field safety best practices
• Infill understanding
• Equipment overview
• Maintenance best practices and techniques
• Troubleshooting common problems
