Sports Turf Canada postpones AGM amid ongoing COVID-19 concerns
Mid-September proposed for event's rescheduling
March 17, 2020 By Turf & Rec
Sports Turf Canada is rescheduling its annual general meeting that was to have taken place April 2 at the University of British Columbia.
An official announcement from Sports Turf Canada reads:
“As the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak continues to evolve and the health and safety of our members and our industry is our most important priority, we wanted to let you know that we are here to support our industry through this stressful and unprecedented time. Unfortunately, we need to reschedule our University of British Columbia event on April 2 to keep everyone healthy, and we are thinking of mid-September at this point and will keep you advised of our progress.
“Our staff are fortunate to be able to work offsite to reduce the spread of the virus and we greatly appreciate the support of our members, our board and our industry as we navigate this challenging time together. We will continue to monitor the world’s health situation closely and will adjust and communicate as necessary. Wishing everyone a healthy and safe few weeks.”
The British Columbia event was to mark the first time the association’s AGM was held outside of Ontario.
