The snowy, icy weather that has plagued the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia so far this winter has now taken its toll on local sports fields. The traditionally mild weather associated with the Vancouver area during the months permits outdoor soccer to be played, but fields have been shut down for the time being due to snow and ice cover.
