Signage may say ‘closed’ but Vancouver fields and green spaces open for passive use

People in Vancouver are entitled to stroll about sports fields and city green spaces as long as they don’t engage in any game play. Signage at such locations is unclear to some, yet the message is intended to discourage large gatherings – not to outlaw passive use.
