Children's charities benefit from $50,000 in 2019 donations

Sheridan Nurseries, a leading Canadian nursery and garden centre retailer, continues to donate to children’s charities with a 2020 donation of $20,000 to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.

In 2019, Sheridan donated $50,000 to children’s charities.

“It is our responsibility to make a positive and lasting impression in the communities in which we live and work,” the business stated. “Sheridan Nurseries works proudly alongside a variety of non-profit organizations focused on children’s care, green initiatives and the building of strong local communities.”

In 2019, Sheridan Nurseries supported both the Children’s Wish Foundation and the Kids’ Health Links Foundation.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest and only all-Canadian charity dedicated to granting wishes to children between the ages of three and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or a severe chronic condition. For more than 30 years, Children’s Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to more than 25,000 children and their families.

Since 2004, Sheridan Nurseries has been a corporate partner with Children’s Wish Foundation. The company believes every child deserves a chance to live his or her best life, no matter the circumstances. Sheridan’s 2020 donation of $20,000 to Children’s Wish Foundation brings its donations to more than $200,000 since their partnership began.

The Kids’ Health Links Foundation focuses on creating children and youth centred programs. Upopolis, their secure social networking technology, helps chronically ill and hospitalized youth cope with stress, isolation and loneliness while in medical care. Upopolis is a therapeutic, fun, private and secure online platform that connects ailing youth between 10 and 18 years old with others who are going through similar medical experiences. Through Upopolis, youths have more opportunity to learn and grow alongside their peers, empowering them to manage and cope with their diagnoses.

Sheridan is a Kid’s’ Health Links Foundation partner and a presenting sponsor of www.upedia.ca. In 2020, Sheridan Nurseries donated $30,000 to Kids’ Health Link,s bringing donations to more than $300,000 since the partnership began. Sheridan is inspired by the work the foundation does to make a measurable difference in the lives of ill children.
